Orwell wrote of a dystopian society. Did he write of our society? Of the conservative right wing?
"...the inner meaning of the Party's sexual puritanism. It was not merely that the sex instinct created a world of its own which was outside the Party's control and which therefore had to be destroyed if possible. What was more important was that sexual privation induced hysteria, which was desirable because it could be transformed into war fever and leader worship."
Did the republicans aspire so directly to Big Brother with their declamation of the "moral majority" platform? Did they hijack the nation by manipulation of our fear of the dystopian society? Did they sell "War is Peace" to anyone who would swallow it?
If I don't get laid, will I turn into a Republican?

Hmm, that reminds me of the Desperate Housewives Episode where Orson starts to go down on Brie despite her excuse of "I don't do that, I'm a republican"....I think by the next commercial break she was ready to change political parties.
now Leah you know many people who say they are republicans and none of them think about sex that way.
Dear anon,
Have you read 1984?
Ssshh, you're blowing my cover. The name is Alice.
I really don't like republicans. I'll do what it takes to keep you a democrat. :-)
Dear anon,
