Writers are on strike. Well, the ones in St. Louis are still working. It's those Hollywood writers I envy that are parading about with picket signs - so to speak.
I like how they are giving waivers to certain award shows. That cracks me up. And I do hope they issue one for the Oscars. But I wonder what these writers are doing during with this abundance of free time. Are they picking up out-of-industry freelance? Are they doing pro bono? Are they sitting by the pool?
Pro bono, that got me thinking. It's a good tax write-off. Hmmm.
Nora Ephron, if you are looking for pro bono work I've got a deal for you. Although a writer myself, I don't tend to produce the modern day fairytale stuff that you do so well. The kind of story I wish I were living. But Nora, if you're surfing the web, if you're bored and feeling so inclined, please, please, write me a happy ending in that sweet, smart style of yours like a modern day Austen.
Thanks or Amen. Whatever works.
